I grew up in Poland where photography wasn't a hobby — it was the family language. My grandfather, Zbigniew Kryda, was a celebrated artistic photographer, gold medal winner, and chairman of the Aleksander Maciesza Photographic Society in Plock for over two decades. I was handed a camera before I could fully explain why I wanted one.
By age 15, I was on a photo walk at Niagara Falls with my grandfather — long exposures of the falls at night that came out looking like marshmallow clouds. One of those shots won 3rd place in a local display. That was the moment I knew this was more than a hobby.
I emigrated to Canada in 1991, and by 2001 I was already shooting digitally. I've worked through medium format film, 35mm, and every evolution of digital since. What's never changed is the obsession with making something that still looks beautiful 25 years from now.
Since 2018, I've been working professionally — shooting content, stills, and video for brands across SW Ontario. In 2019, my family and I settled in Ingersoll. My wife Rebecca grew up here — her family runs deep in this town. That local knowledge isn't a marketing line. It's every back road, every market condition, every agent relationship I've built by actually being here.
I'm married to Rebecca. We have two sons, aged 6 and 14. When I'm not shooting I'm coaching soccer, at a baseball diamond, or on a charity cycling ride with a camera in my bag. This work matters to me — not because it's a job, but because every listing I shoot is someone's next chapter.
My grandfather passed in 2005. My grandmother, turning 90, still looks at the photos I send her and says they look like paintings. That's the bar.
